Wattle & Wren sits on a quiet corner in Newcastle East, a few strides from the beach. We keep things simple: a rotating selection of single-origin beans, brewed with care, and pastries made from scratch each morning before the sun crests the horizon.

The doors swing open at 6am for the surf-club regulars — the ones who peel off wetsuits and shuffle in with sand still between their toes. By 1pm, we close up so our small team can rest, reset, and start again before dawn.
